Our mission is to provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum, enabling children to learn at their own pace. Children have opportunities to participate in individual, small and large group activities.
Throughout the year, children are enriched from exposure to a wide variety of quality children's literature. Our literature based curriculum is an integral part of all subject content areas.
Children are exposed to predictable books, picture books, big books (with their corresponding smaller edition), poetry and fiction/non-fiction books by many of the children's favorite authors. Children are encouraged to author and illustrate their own books throughout the year.
While working with the children, teachers observe and interact with children. The curriculum is planned around children's areas of interest, keeping in mind that children grow socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.
Field Trips are scheduled to coincide with curriculum development and to give parents an opportunity to participate.
